Lindsey Hall Headshot

Lindsey Hall

Lindsey Hall is an eating disorder activist by day and mental health writer by night. She is the author behind the award-winning eating disorder blog, “I Haven’t Shaved In Six Weeks,” which she started following a six-week experience at an inpatient treatment center for an eating disorder. Having spent the past three years shedding light on her ten-year battle with anorexia, binge eating and body dysmorphic disorder, Lindsey embodies a voice for those who need support, but are often too scared to speak out.

As a researcher, writer and speaker, she works to bring transparency to a community often clouded in shame in order to inform others how to spot eating disorder behaviors, and when to seek help. She has brought many eating disorder topics to the front page including the concept of ‘drunkorexia,’ which is drinking alcohol in place of eating, and her diagnosis of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and how PCOS can affect eating disorders. She also extensively covers ‘what’ and ‘how’ to define recovery in your life, and has coined the term “living the flexible okay life” when considering recovery.

A prominent face in the recovery community, Lindsey has published articles and interviewed with numerous international publications, including The Today Show, Washington Post, Cosmopolitan, Women’s Health Magazine, Refinery29, Bustle, Elite Daily, Daily Sun, SheKnows and more. She has spoken at several colleges and eating disorder recovery events including several NEDA walks nationwide, and has given numerous podcast/radio and television interviews covering any and all eating disorder topics.  She is based in Denver, Colorado and works in tandem with some of the largest eating disorder clinics nationwide to help shed light on treatment options and what’s being done in the eating disorder community to help fight the epidemic in younger children.

Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, Lindsey graduated with a BA in English from The University of Arkansas in 2011 and began her career in public relations in New York before moving to be closer to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado.
