About Burkwood Treatment Center
Burkwood Treatment Center is a residential rehab facility located in Hudson, Wisconsin. Near scenic Willow River State Park, we encourage patients battling addiction to recover on three-acres of land. With over 20 years of experience, we know how to recognize challenges to patients overcoming alcohol, opioid, stimulant, prescription drug, marijuana, inhalants, and painkiller addictions. We also examine the patient for co-occurring disorders, such as bipolar disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, depressive disorder, and anxiety disorder.
Our caring staff of nurses, dieticians, psychiatrists, and counselors work with respect, integrity, accountability, and excellence as we assist patients in recovery. We believe accepting personal responsibility for wellness is central. We help patients manage their addiction versus managing their recovery, placing the power in their hands. Our recovery and relapse prevention plans are based on years of evidence that help each patient reach recovery goals.
The staff at Burkwood Treatment Center is dedicated to the needs of our patients. Our residential care allows each patient to meet with counselors for weekly therapy sessions. We offer a drug and alcohol program using therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Our unique 12-step program, Making Alcoholics Anonymous Easier, also called MAAEZ, results in 10 percent higher rates of alcohol abstinence in comparison to patients who have received non-MAAEZ treatments. In addition to carefully-supervised detox, we also include yoga, group and individual therapy, and recreational group therapy.
Burkwood Treatment Center’s continued care plan ensures our patients needs are met with exceptional attention. Whether they are on campus or in an IOP, we are a leading provider in treatment and value the sobriety of our patients.

From the first day I walked through the door I knew I was at the right place. The staff is amazing, they are the glue that holds everything together. The councilors are great, and the peer groups played major part in my recovery. Also I have made some life long friends and support group. I would highly recommend Burkwood Treatment Centers to anyone seeking in patient treatment.
Burkwood is a great treatment center. The time that I was there I felt that all employees working there really cared about each and every one of us and our sobriety. The best thing that I was taught here and able to take with me was how to accept myself and how to deal with my addiction back at home. I would recommend this place to everyone that is battling an addiction with drugs or alcohol and possibly both because of the well trained staff from Charlie all the way down to the kitchen personnel.
I had an amazing experience at burkwood! Between the staff and the community there I wouldn't be sober today. They taught me how to build a solid foundation and got me started on my path to recovery. I highly recommend this treatment facility to anyone that is looking to get sober and stay sober.
I found Burkwood extremely helpful and beneficial. They did an extremely good job at creating a treatment plan that met my emotional and mental health needs. I was able to begin to address my trauma and develop a support plan that worked when I left treatment. It has been 3.5 years of continuous sobriety since I left.
I've been to a handful of inpatient treatments. In my experience Burkwood is by far the best one i have ever been to. I would recommend it to anyone who is battling addiction. It is a great place, great staff that really care about the person behind the addiction. It was a life changer for me.
