Here at Amethyst Recovery, our staff members possess more than seven decades’ worth of experience in the field of addiction treatment. On top of that, many of our staffers have been down the treacherous road of chronic substance abuse themselves. Patients will receive therapy from experienced behavioral health professionals, working under the guidance of a clinical director who has received training in numerous forms of therapeutic intervention. Our medical director has been in the game for more than twenty years, and the director of our day/night program has been working in addiction treatment for just over eighteen years. Not only do these staff members have extensive backgrounds treating both addiction and co-occurring disorders, but we believe it is highly important that many of them know from first-hand experience how it feels to suffer these ailments. This means that patients at Amethyst Recovery will not only find themselves in capable hands, but deeply empathetic ones as well.
Amethyst Recovery understands that some patients may be reticent about entering treatment due to outside issues such as finances or legal troubles. Our founder, Ian Treacy, understands these concerns quite well. With years of experience working at other treatment centers and sober living facilities, he has come to understand the trials and tribulations facing most patients as they struggle to seek treatment for their disease. That is why he has ensured that Amethyst Recovery is staffed with chief officers who are more than capable of attending to patient concerns. Our CEO, Julie Treacy, uses her background as an attorney to ensure that addicts and alcoholics with legal issues are able to receive only the best court liaison services. Our CFO, Samuel Kesaris, uses his background in health insurance to make sure that addicts and their families are able to pay for treatment. Combine their experience with our competitive rates, and we are quite pleased with the number of suffering addicts who are able to seek safe harbor within our facilities.
Patient background is another important factor in recovery, which is why Amethyst Recovery takes pride in treating addicts and alcoholics from all walks of life. Addiction does not discriminate. It cares little about your race, religion, gender or sexual orientation. This disease doesn’t care whether you spend your years sitting behind a desk or serving active duty in our beloved military. Patients will learn to see this as they forge bonds of friendship and camaraderie through therapy and shared experiences with other patients.
These shared experiences take many forms. Located on the beautiful Treasure Coast, Amethyst provides patients with monthly opportunities to leave our state of the art facility and embark on therapeutic outings with one another. Hiking, kayaking, deep-sea fishing and equine therapy all stand on the list of exciting opportunities we offer our patients. Not only do many patients befriend one another on these outings, but they learn one of the most important lessons of all—sobriety doesn’t have to be boring. It can be an adventure, if only we allow it to be.
By the time our patients graduate from our full continuum of care, their families will be amazed at the transformations they have undergone. By gradually transitioning between day/night care, intensive outpatient, and outpatient treatment, we allow patients to slowly acclimate themselves to a sober lifestyle. At the end of treatment, patients are welcome to stay in Amethyst’s sober living facilities until they feel confident that they are fully ready to get back on their feet. Amethyst Recovery does not rush our patients to their destination—we allow them to enjoy the journey. By the time the destination is reached, however, patients will be grateful they chose to seek treatment with professionals who truly care.
